Whoopass!
Whoopass was a funky mostly cover band that I ran for a year and a half in the early 00's on Sunday nights at Ottawa's famed live music venue, The Rainbow. We wanted to follow Maceo and Fred and had a ton of fun/funk doing well known and obscure material from that side of things. Local Hammond guru Billy Mitchell made it all come together and you can see him in the upper left of the picture to the right. It became a jam night for area music students and musicians passing through town. It's defunked at the moment but who knows...

The Funk Brothers
OK, so 2008 was going along just fine when suddenly I got the call to play some gigs with the fantastic Funk Brothers, the band that recorded all those great songs at Motown in the 60's and 70's. These are the guys that made Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye and a host of other Motown legends sound so good.

To play with living legends is quite an honour and so I what can I say except WOW!!

Here's two pictures with Brian Asselin & Kelly Craig on the side of the 416 after a breakdown returning from a Funk Brothers tour in 2009! Do we care? Hell no! We're still buzzin' about the gigs...
